Wild Horse Photography and snapping images of horses in nature and in their natural surroundings is a beloved passion for Deborah Kalas. She has spent years traveling the world capturing these beautiful creatures in their habitat, and her sessions are carefully crafted to bring out their spirit.
Located along the Little Missouri River in Western Dakota, Theodore Roosevelt National Park is one of the few national parks to have wild horses. My first trip there was in June 2014 and I fell in love with the horses there. I have been back many times since in different seasons, observing, marveling, and photographing the intimate relationships the horses have with each other. There is always something new to see. I hope you enjoy these photographs as much as I have had making them.
